THE LOCATION

East Coast Tasmania

East Coast Tasmania

Swansea sits on the shores of Great Oyster Bay, looking across the water to the pink granite peaks of the Hazards and Freycinet Peninsula. Established in the 1820s, it is one of Tasmania’s oldest towns, where colonial heritage, long beaches and a strong connection to the surrounding farming landscape remain part of everyday life. From Swansea, the East Coast unfolds in both directions with cool-climate vineyards, farm gates and fresh seafood alongside secluded beaches and celebrated wilderness, with Freycinet National Park around 45 minutes away. It’s a part of Tasmania where life feels naturally slower: shaped by the seasons, the sea and the freedom to explore one of the island’s most beautiful stretches of coastline.
